Palm Beach International Airport has officially been renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport.
The renaming makes PBI one of a small number of American airports named for presidents, joining Reagan National outside Washington and JFK in New York.
Airport renamings are more logistics than ceremony once the signs go up. Airline systems, booking sites, and navigation apps all have to catch up, though the airport code stays the same, so your boarding pass will still say PBI.
The name change lands differently across the county, which is exactly what you would expect in a place where the president is also a part-time resident. Reactions from locals have run the full spectrum, loudly.
For travelers, nothing operational changes: same terminals, same parking, same short security lines that made the airport a favorite in the first place.
